Simply Connect Press Release

31st March 2016

Simply ConnectTM is a new and revolutionary transport system for everyone to use in their daily lives. Our concept is being developed for launch in the Greater Manchester area later in 2016[1].

With door-to-door travel on demand for just above a bus fare, Simply Connect is a realistic alternative to driving for the many short, routine journeys we all need to make. Professionally-driven, shared, small vehicles are as comfortable as your own car.

Simply Connect offers public transport for suburban areas and smaller towns, and for travel around towns and cities, not just into urban centres. It turns public transport in these places on its head. Just as when using your car, travel is under your own control, instead of needing to plan your life around fixed routes and timetables.

Simply Connect lets you set what is important to you (e.g. journey time, cost) and makes sure you arrive on time: each journey you make is tracked and managed until you arrive.

Our system design allows everyone to use Simply Connect, irrespective of technological skill, social inclusion or physical needs.

As a 'connected system', Simply Connect has a wide range of social inclusion, carbon reduction, air quality, and macro-economic benefits for communities, businesses and local authorities who are thinking about innovative ways of developing the social and economic vitality of their areas.

With its highly innovative approach to Mobility as a Service (MaaS), Simply Connect has already received funds from the Department for Transport and InnovateUK. We are also delighted that Simply Connect was commended in Transport Minister Andrew Jones's[2] speech at the launch of the recent Smarter Travel Live event in Milton Keynes.
